New goodies like PlayStation® trophies, new game modes and new content are outnumbered by only one thing: Bullets! Will you defeat everything this freakish nightmare town throws at you or will you become mutant chowder? Using a host of weapons, watch your back as mutants go mad for blood! Blast bloody pieces out of their wretched bodies and uncover the mystery behind the Bayou County outbreak. But wait, there’s more! The coolest aspect of this new level is who you play as, for this level G and Wash are elsewhere leaving you to take control of Varla Guns (previously an NPC in The House of the Dead: OVERKILL) and her cute stripper exotic dancer friend, Candy. Not only do you have new environments to battle your way through, but you also have new stripper exotic dancer and biker mutants to contend with. Windows 11 runs every standard PC game launcher out of the box and a bunch of emulators, and it can double as a powerful portable media center for bigger screens.Naked Terror has you fighting your way through a strip club (a real hardship, I know), the dark and dirty streets of Bayou City and a back roads dive bar. Running Windows 11 gives the Ally a clear advantage in versatility and compatibility over non-Windows competitors. Thankfully, the Ally’s 65-watt charger does a great job and fully charged my Ally from empty in 2 hours 47 minutes.īut the Ally’s biggest flaw stems from its biggest strength – Windows 11. I managed 4 hours 27 minutes watching YouTube in Chrome at 50% brightness and speaker volume, and I got 3 hours 20 minutes watching 1080p videos in MPC HC. Running at lower power levels and with less intensive tasks does eke out more performance. It is on par with similar Windows handhelds, but its higher power draw than the Steam Deck with the same 40Whr capacity battery leaves it short. At full tilt, maxed out at 25 watts, the Ally’s battery can last as little as 57 minutes. It can get a little loud when cranked up to max, but at lower temps it’s a quiet system.Īnd you will need to charge the ROG Ally often. The system works well, keeping heat away from the surfaces you touch and blowing it away from your face. In practice, cool air comes in through two intakes in the rear, and hot air goes out upwards through vents in the top. It’s a complex system of custom heat pipes and fins that works with the dual fans to remove heat in any orientation the unit is in. Asus attributes this to its ahem Zero Gravity Thermal System. Despite this, the Ally always felt cool in the hand. While I regularly hit 65 Celsius, there were times when the OSD showed temps as high as the low 90s. But it honestly does feel light in the hands, lending itself to easy use over long periods. The unit is light – a fact Asus marketing was keen to impress upon reviewers (just 608 grams!). It’s chunky in the right areas, with wide, textured wings to grab on to. Holding the ROG Ally & Its Comfort Factor
